MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — Qué mejor manera de comenzar el año nuevo que celebrando el cumpleaños de Elvis Presley, quien, de estar vivo aún, estaría cumpliendo 84 años.
Para tal ocasión, Graceland ha organizado una serie de eventos que incluyen desde la “Fiesta de Cumpleaños de Elvis” hasta la “Ceremonia de Proclamación del Cumpleaños de Elvis”. También habrá una excursión especial en Tupelo, un concierto con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Memphis y Terry Mike Jeffrey, una subasta y mucho más. (Ver más detalles al final).
Como evento principal, la “Ceremonia de Proclamación del Cumpleaños de Elvis Presley” será realizada el martes, 8 de enero, a las 9:30 AM (Hora Centro) en el jardín norte de la Mansión de Graceland. Después de la proclamación, se cortará un gran pastel en honor a Elvis, que luego será servido con café a todos los presentes en el restaurante Vernon’s Smokehouse, ubicado enfrente de la mansión, en el nuevo Elvis Presley’s Memphis. Se espera que miles de personas acudan a esta celebración anual que se estará llevando a cabo del 5 al 8 de enero.
Elvis Presley nació en Tupelo, Mississippi, el 8 de enero de 1935, y se mudó a Memphis con sus padres cuando apenas tenía 13 años de edad. Grabó su primera canción, “That’s All Right”, en el Estudio Sun de Memphis en 1954.
Graceland fue su residencia principal hasta el día de su muerte, la cual ocurrió el 16 de agosto de 1977. Elvis tenía 42 años de edad.

En este viaje a Tupelo tendrás la oportunidad de ver el lugar en donde nació Elvis, además de su casa, las escuelas en donde estudió y mucho más. El bus saldrá del estacionamiento de Graceland. Las entradas cuestan $129 para adultos y $109 para niños (5-12 años); no se permiten niños menores de 5 años de edad. La entrada incluye el almuerzo en el Vernon’s Smokehouse (antes de ir a Tupelo, MS). Sólo por reservación. “Elvis’ Birthday Bash” – De 6 PM a 9 PM, en Elvis Presley’s Memphis y la Mansión de Graceland. Las entradas para esta fiesta privada con tour en la Mansión de Graceland cuestan $70 para adultos y $40 para niños (7-12 años); los niños menores de 6 años de edad entran gratis. MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — What better way to start the new year than celebrating Elvis Presley’s birthday, who would have turned 84 years old if he were still alive today.
For the occasion, Graceland has organized a series of events ranging from the “Elvis Birthday Bash” to the “Elvis Presley’s Birthday Proclamation Ceremony.” There will also be a special tour in Tupelo, a concert with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra featuring Terry Mike Jeffrey, an auction and much more. Being the main event, the “Elvis Presley’s Birthday Proclamation Ceremony” will be held on Tuesday, January 8, at 9:30 AM (Central Time) in Graceland’s North Lawn. After the proclamation, an epic birthday cake will be cut in honor of Elvis, and served at 10:30 AM with coffee to everyone at the Vernon’s Smokehouse restaurant, located across the street from the mansion, at the new Elvis Presley’s Memphis. Admission to this event is free. Fans who cannot attend can watch the ceremony live via Elvis Presley’s Graceland Livestream: https://www.graceland.com/graceland-cam.
Thousands of people are expected to attend this annual celebration that will take place from January 5 to January 8.
Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, on January 8, 1935, and moved to Memphis with his parents when he was 13 years old. He recorded his first song, “That’s All Right,” at Sun Studio in Memphis in 1954.
Graceland was Elvis’ home until the day of his death, which happened on August 16, 1977. He was 42.
