Salah scores 100th PL goal, leading Liverpool to 3-0 win over Leeds

Sports Desk, Sep 12 (EFE).- Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah on Sunday made history as he scored his 100th Premier League goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Leeds United.

Playing in his 162nd Premier League game, Salah became the fifth-fastest player to reach the milestone following Alan Shearer, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Thierry Henry.

Salah’s close-range effort halfway through the first half off a Trent Alexander-Arnold low cross set the Reds on the way for their third PL win after battling to a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

Five minutes into the second half, Brazilian midfielder Fabinho doubled Liverpool’s lead as he pounced on a loose ball inside the area.

At the one-hour mark, Leeds’ Pascal Struijk was shown a red card after a rough challenge against Harvey Elliott, who left the pitch on a stretcher.

Having squandered a few close chances, Senegalese forward Sadio Mane rounded off the win two minutes into second period stoppage time as he fired home off a pass from Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

With the win, Liverpool are now tied with Manchester United and Chelsea at 10 points on top of the Premier League table, while Leeds is down in the 17th spot with two points.
