London Design Museum explores career, short life of Amy Winehouse

London, Nov 24 (EFE).- A new exhibition at London’s Design Museum explores the career and tragically short life of British singer Amy Winehouse with a collection spanning personal belongings to the symbols of her stardom.

Amy: Beyond the Stage gives visitors a backstage glimpse into her life, bringing together items such as a street sign daubed in messages of condolences left by her fans following her untimely death in 2011, to guitars and outfits used in her stage performances.

Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse attended the preview of the exhibition, which opens to the public on November 26 and runs until April 10 next year.

Born in London in 1983, Winehouse shot to fame with the release of her 2006 album Back to Black. She died from alcohol poisoning in July 2011 following a long struggle with substance abuse.EFE
