New school year starts in Afghanistan
The new school year started Tuesday in Afghanistan amid coronavirus restrictions. The country’s president, Ashraf Ghani, said that at least one million more students would attend classes in the new academic year.
According to UNICEF, an estimated 3.7 million children are out-of-school in Afghanistan, 60 percent of them being girls.
