Ukraine to reinforce border with Belarus

Kyiv, Jun 30 (EFE). – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday ordered the country’s top military commanders to reinforce the border in the north, as Kyiv closely watches the ongoing situation in neighboring Belarus.

Zelenskyy made the decision at the General Staff meeting, where he was briefed by top military and intelligence officials on the battlefield developments in the north in the ongoing war against Russia.

The President assigned the Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny and Commander of the Joint Forces Serhiy Nayev “to implement a set of measures to strengthen this direction (in the north).”

“The situation on the battlefield moving forward. Strengthening our operations with additional artillery systems and shells,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.

The President said Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Security Service and the State Border Guard Service also separately reported on the situation in Belarus in the meeting.

“We keep it (Situation in Belarus) under constant control,” he stressed. EFE
