Paris, Feb 11 (efe-epa).- Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr. will be sidelined for around four weeks with an injury to his left adductor muscle, the club announced Thursday.
It means he will miss the Champions League tie against his former club FC Barcelona on Tuesday.
The Brazil forward suffered the injury in the second half of Wednesday night’s French Cup match against Caen, which the Paris side went on to win 1-0.
“Neymar Jr suffered a lesion to the left adductor on Wednesday evening. After analysis of clinical exams and scans, it is expected that he’ll be out for around 4 weeks depending on the evolution of the injury,” PSG said in a statement.
The club will have to pin its hopes on his return in time for the second leg of the round-of-16 Champions League tie against the Catalan team. EFE-EPA
