Neymar’s plane makes emergency landing

Recife, Brazil, Jun 21 (EFE).- Soccer star Neymar’s private jet made an emergency landing Tuesday in the northern Brazilian city of Boa Vista due to a technical issue.

The Brazil national team captain, his girlfriend, and his sister were on their way home after a vacation in the United States when the pilot of the Cessna 680 Citation owned by Neymar Sport E Marketing detected “a small problem in the windshield wiper,” the player’s representatives said in a statement.

“We would like to say that all the passengers are fine and waiting to continue the voyage,” the representatives said.

ESPN Brasil was the first to report that Neymar’s plane made an unscheduled stop in the capital of Roraima state, bordering Venezuela.

Within hours, photos of the Paris Saint-Germain striker posing with airport employees began to appear on social media.

Neymar, 30, girlfriend Bruna Biancardi, and sister Rafaella Santos left Las Vegas on Monday afternoon and made stops in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Barbados en route to Brazil.

“I am just stopping by here to thank you all for your messages and to say that everything is good, we are already headed home, it was only a scare, everyone is good here and we’re together,” the player said in a video posted on his Instagram Stories page,
