Nicola Sturgeon to step down as Scotland’s first minister: BBC

London, Feb 15 (EFE).- Nicola Sturgeon is to step down as Scotland’s first minister, British media reported Wednesday.

The leader of the Scottish National Party took the role from her former mentor Alex Salmond following the 2014 independence referendum.

She is due to officially announce her resignation at a news conference, the BBC reported.

Scotland’s longest serving first minister, the SNP has remained the largest party in the Scottish Parliament during her tenure. EFE
