Dybala signs for Mourinho’s Roma

Rome, Jul 20 (EFE).- Argentine forward Paulo Dybala has signed a three-year contract with AS Roma, the Serie A club confirmed on Wednesday.

The announcement comes a couple of days after he joined the team’s pre-season training camp in Portugal.

“The club is delighted to be able to announce the signing of forward Paulo Dybala,” Roma said.

Although the club did not reveal any financial details, local media say the Argentine will receive a yearly salary of 6 million euros.

“I am joining a team that is on the up, a club that continues to put in place strong foundations for the future, and a coach, Jose Mourinho, who it will be a privilege to work with,” the 28-year-old said.

Tiago Pinto, the club’s general manager, praised the player who has five Serie A titles among other trophies to his name.

“Paulo is a world-renowned player who has won major trophies and gained global acclaim,” Pinto said.

“He will bring that class with him to Roma and I am sure that, with him in the squad, we will be even stronger and more competitive,” he added.

Dybala began his career with Argentina’s Instituto. In 2012, Palermo brought him to Serie A, and he joined Juventus three years later.

He helped Juve win 12 titles, including the Coppa Italia four times and the three Italian Super Cups.EFE
