MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/CA) — Un oficial de seguridad de prevención de pérdidas disparó un arma de fuego contra un hombre que intentaba robar comida en una tienda Kroger en Córdova, según la policía.
El tiroteo ocurrió alrededor de las 11:20 a.m. en la tienda Kroger ubicado en 676 N. Germantown Pkwy.
Cuando el hombre no identificado salía de la tienda con un carrito “repleto” de carne y mariscos, el oficial de seguridad le pidió el recibo. Según una declaración de Kroger, el hombre le dijo al oficial que el recibo estaba en su automóvil.
El hombre condujo al oficial a su Chevy Malibu donde saltó dentro del vehículo antes de manejar de reversa, pasando por encima del pie del oficial en el proceso. El oficial respondió disparando un solo tiro contra la llanta del hombre, pero el sospechoso pudo alejarse, dijo un representante de Kroger.
La policía dijo que se encontró un casquillo de bala en la escena y que no se acusará al agente de seguridad en el tiroteo.
No se produjeron lesiones mayores durante el incidente, aunque el oficial aún sufre de dolores leves y moretones en el pie.

MEMPHIS, TN (CA) — A loss-prevention security officer fired a gunshot at a man attempting to steal food Sunday at a Cordova Kroger, according to police.
The shooting occurred about 11:20 a.m. at the Kroger located at 676 N. Germantown Pkwy.
As the unidentified man was leaving the store with a cart “stacked full” of meat and seafood, the security officer asked for the receipt. According to a statement from Kroger, the man told the officer the receipt was in his car.
The man led the officer to his Chevy Malibu where he hopped into the vehicle before hitting reverse – running over the officer’s foot in the process. The officer responded by firing a single shot at the man’s tire, but the suspect was able to drive away, Kroger said.
Police said one shell casing was found on the scene and the security officer will not be charged in the shooting.
No major injuries were sustained during the incident, although the officer is still suffering from minor pain and bruising in his foot.
This is an ongoing investigation.
