Interactive Mural Promotes Volunteerism In Memphis
MEMPHIS, TN (Localmemphis.com/LPL) — Una organización local sin fines de lucro está utilizando el arte para hacer que la gente se interese en el voluntariado. Volunteer Odyssey ha lanzado un mural interactivo llamado #TheHeartOfMemphis en su oficina principal en el domicilio 60 South Main.
El mural tiene una pantalla táctil para mostrar los grupos que necesitan voluntarios en función de sus intereses personales.
Memphis tiene una de las tasas de voluntariado más bajas del país, por lo que los organizadores dicen que el mural puede ayudar a guiar a las personas que quieren ayudar en la dirección correcta.
“Si tocas la nota musical [en la pantalla táctil], te mostrará las artes y las oportunidades relacionadas con la cultura. Cosas como el Levitt Shell. Si tocas Hambre y Vivienda, te mostrará oportunidades con lugares como Dorothy Day House. Cualquier cosa que te interese, puedes encontrar una oportunidad”, dijo la Dra. Sarah Petschonek, fundadora y CEO de Volunteer Odyssey.
El mural interactivo estará en funcionamiento las 24 horas del día hasta el próximo año.

MEMPHIS, TN (Localmemphis.com) — A local non-profit is using art to get people interested in volunteering. Volunteer Odyssey has launched an interactive mural called #TheHeartOfMemphis at their main office on 60 South Main.
The mural has a touchscreen to display groups in need of volunteers based on your personal interests.
Memphis has one of the lowest volunteer rates in the country, so organizers say the mural can help guide people that want to help in the right direction.
“If you touch the music note [on the touchscreen], it will show you arts and cultural-related opportunities. Things like the Levitt Shell. If you touch the hunger and housing note, it’s going to show you opportunities with places like the Dorothy Day House. Anything that you’re interested in, you can find an opportunity,” says Dr. Sarah Petschonek, the founder and CEO of Volunteer Odyssey.
The interactive mural will be up and running twenty-four hours a day for the next year.
