Mount bags hattrick as Chelsea thrash Norwich City 7-0

Sports Desk, Oct 23 (EFE).- English midfielder Mason Mount fired in a hattrick as Chelsea routed an abysmal Norwich City 7-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Mount opened the scoring with just 8 minutes on the clock with a shot from outside the box.

With Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both ruled out with injury, Chelsea’s midfield and attacking wing-backs stepped up to the plate with winger Callum Hudson-Odoi netting the team’s second just 10 minutes later.

Just before half-time, right-back Reece James made it 3-0 with a chip over Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul and Ben Chilwell got his name on the scoresheet in the second half.

An own goal by Max Aarons put the game well out of reach for the Canaries, who went down to 10 men with a red card against Ben Gibson, and Mount came back to complete his hattrick with a penalty and a last minute goal to seal the three points emphatically.

The win keeps Chelsea at the top of the Premier League while Norwich City languish in last place. EFE
