Pedestrian Bridge in Midtown Will Be Closed Indefinitely, Official Says

MEMPHIS, TN (FOX 13) — Beginning today the Pedestrian Bridge that extends over I-40 just west of the I-40/I-240 Midtown Interchange will be completely closed, according to a press release from the City of Memphis.
The bridge will be closed for an indefinite period of time due to safety concerns.
Pedestrians who normally use the bridge are advised to use an alternate route during the duration of the closure.
The signed detour route will make use of Decatur Street., Peach Avenue, J.W. Williams Lane, and Ayers Street, according to the press release.
