The Compost Fairy is Back

El hada del compostaje ha vuelto

MEMPHIS, TN (Edible Memphis) — The organization Compost Fairy is offering a drop off service at the Memphis Urban Wood biomass campus on Watkins & Chelsea which keeps urban timber out of the landfill.

For $20 a month, you get two buckets to fill and empty at your leisure Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There’s a cleaning station on site and you can compost all of your food waste, including meat, bones, shells, and more. And in return you get finished compost back twice a year.

“Founding Fairy” Mike Larrivee says composting will continue to grow. “This is just the first step. We’ll escalate where there’s an opportunity. In the next year, he hopes to return to a private pick up service with the end goal being a public pick up service.

“Assistant Fairy” Patrick Gridley says he got into composting through farming. “I love being able to take a seed, grow it into a food, eat the food, and turn what you don’t eat back into earth. Farm-to-table is part of the circular economy, and it needs to happen locally.”

They have industrial capacity with limited volume, so sign up now: https://pocketsuite.io/…/item/drop-off-composting-service.
