The number, 15 666 666 666, will be available for bidding on the auction platform of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba on Oct.10, the Netease portal reported on Tuesday.

The phone number has a pending $55,000 bill, which is not included in the auction price and must be paid by the victorious bidder.

The number 666 is considered auspicious in China, unlike in the West, where it has negative connotations.

In recent years, the usage of “666” to signify approval or appreciation has grown widespread on social media.
