Washington, Dec 6 (EFE).- A shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, United States on Wednesday left a 3 dead and one seriously injured, including the assailant, who was shot dead by police, local authorities confirmed.
The Metropolitan Police said the attacker was also dead and that there were no longer any “threats” on the university campus.
“According to our investigators at the scene, we have three deceased victims and one additional victim in critical condition at a local hospital,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill only explained that several victims were taken to nearby hospitals.
According to the sheriff, there is no longer a threat on the university campus, and the motivation that led the assailant to carry out the shooting is still unknown.
Las Vegas police received a report of an active shooter at the university at 11:46 am local time.
Police urged citizens to avoid the area, and the university staff warned them to shelter in place during the shooting.
The University of Nevada is a public institution founded in 1957 with about 31,000 students. EFE
