Suns get second victory over Bucks in NBA Finals

Phoenix, USA, Jul 8 (EFE).- The Phoenix Suns beat the Milwaukee Bucks (118-108) Thursday for a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

The Suns overcame Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored 42 points, 12 rebounds and four assists but was too lonely in the Bucks attack. For Phoenix, the most prominent player was Devin Booker with 31 points, five rebounds and six assists.

The Suns also had the notable contributions of Chris Paul (23 points, eight assists and four rebounds) and Mikal Bridges (27 points and seven rebounds). Phoenix excelled from the three point area (20 of 40 attempts, 50 percent in total), while the Bucks were outperformed in that area (nine of 31, 29 percent).

Despite the enormous effort of Antetokounmpo, who returned in the first game of the Finals after having missed the last two games due to a knee injury, the visitors were greatly hampered by the lack of accuracy of Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday.

The Suns fans ended the game euphorically, singing “Suns in Four” (“the Suns 4-0”), their rallying cry during these playoffs in which Phoenix are showing themselves to be a very inspired and reliable team.

The Suns, who have never won the NBA title, had not played a Finals since 1993, when the team led by Charles Barkley fell to Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.

The Finals now travel to Milwaukee, where the third meeting between the Suns and Bucks will be played Sunday. EFE
