BTS’ Jimin to release first solo album

Seoul, Feb 22 (EFE).- BTS singer Jimin will release his first solo studio album next month, his agency announced Wednesday.

The album, titled “Face,” will go on sale on Mar. 24.

“‘Face’ is all about Jimin facing himself head-on as he gets ready for his next step as a solo artist,” said BigHit Music, agency for Jimin and K-pop supergroup BTS, in a statement.

He will “show his own world of music with a distinct voice and a delicate performance,” it added.

Jimin, who debuted with BTS in 2013, has released several solo songs in the past such as “Lie,” “Serendipity” and “With You,” and more recently he collaborated with BigBang vocalist Taeyang on the track “Vibe.”

Other members of the band are also working on their own projects, such as J-Hope, who released his first solo album, “Jack in the Box,” on July 15, and which was the first to be released after the popular group disbanded in June, nine years after their debut.

Leader RM also released his first solo studio album “Indigo” on Dec. 2.

The temporary disbandment of BTS, the highest representatives of the K-Pop phenomenon, was attributed to exhaustion from the constant production rate, which has made them one of the most listened-to bands in the world.

In addition to working on their solo careers, the seven band members will also complete mandatory military service in their country, which lasts a minimum of 18 months, with the intention of reuniting around 2025.

Consisting of RM, Jimin, Jin, V, Suga, J-Hope and Jungkook, the band has broken several records and won national and international awards that no South Korean pop group had previously ever achieved and was the first Asian group to become a global musical phenomenon. EFE
