Body of missing Spanish teenager found between two train carriages in Seville

Seville, Spain, Oct 16 (EFE).- A body found on Monday between two train carriages at a railway station in the southern Spanish city of Seville was confirmed to be that of missing 18-year-old Álvaro Prieto.

Spain’s National Police confirmed that the clothes on the body matched with those Prieto was wearing when he disappeared on Oct. 12.

The body of the aspiring footballer from Córdoba was spotted during a live broadcast on Spanish national television at the Santa Justa station in Seville.

“Córdoba CF laments to say that our young player Álvaro Prieto has been found dead,” the club published on X (formerly Twitter).

The president of Andalucia Juanma Moreno has sent his condolences to Prieto’s relatives.

“Now it’s time to be with the family. All the love of Andalusia for them. We hope that the circumstances of this death will soon be clarified,” Moreno said.

Prieto disappeared on Thursday morning when he was due to return to Córdoba by train after spending the night in Seville with friends.

Police on Monday were searching the train where the body was found, which was in a maintenance area just over a kilometer from the Santa Justa station. EFE
