Premier League clubs paid 272 million pounds to agents in 1 year

London, Mar 31 (efe-epa).- The Premier League clubs paid 272 million pounds ($375.5 million) in commissions and fees to agents and brokers between February 2020 and 2021, according to a report published by the English football association on Wednesday.

Chelsea came on top of the FA list with over 35 million pounds paid, having sealed several signings last transfer market.

The Blues landed German midfielder Kai Havertz, (80 million euros), German forward Timo Werner (60 million), English defender Ben Chilwell (50 million), and Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech (40 million).

Manchester City came second on the list, having spent 30 million on agents for signing Portuguese defender Ruben Dias (68 million), Dutch defender Nathan Aké (45 million), and Spanish forward Ferran Torres (23 million) among others.

Their cross-town rival Manchester United were third with 29 million, followed by Liverpool (21 million), Tottenham Hostpur (16.5 million), and Arsenal (16.4 million).

With 14 million, Everton was the club that spent the most in intermediary fees outside the so-called Big Six, followed by Wolverhampton Wanderers (12.6 million) and Leicester City (12.5 million). EFE-EPA
