Pro-Kremlin blogger killed in cafe blast given military send-off

Moscow, Apr 8 (EFE).- Hundreds of people attended the Moscow funeral Saturday of Vladlen Tatarsky, a military blogger who was killed last week in a bombing at a cafe in St Petersburg.

The pro-Kremlin blogger, who was born in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region and fought with pro-Russian separatists in 2014 against the Kyiv government’s army, received military honors as he was buried at the Troyekurovo cemetery in the Russian capital.

Russian state media reported the head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, also attended the funeral before the public arrived.

Tatarsky had been giving a talk to some of his followers at the cafe when the blast struck last Sunday.

Nearly 40 people were injured in the explosion, which authorities have described as a terrorist attack that was orchestrated by Ukraine’s special services and the Russian opposition.

The alleged perpetrator Darya Trepova was arrested later on Sunday and has been charged with terrorism. EFE
