Library Program to Teach Toddlers About Science

COLLIERVILLE, TN (LPL/CL) — STEAM Ahead es un programa de cuentos basado en STEAM en el que niños de 2 a 5 años de edad explorarán los temas de ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería, arte o matemáticas a través de libros, canciones y discusiones y exploración práctica. Alienta a los niños a aprender a través de su curiosidad natural y preguntas casi interminables sobre el mundo que los rodea.

También se alentará a los cuidadores a involucrar a sus hijos haciendo preguntas y planteando desafíos simples. De esta manera, tanto los niños como los cuidadores pueden aprender cómo convertir incluso las tareas cotidianas en oportunidades de aprendizaje.

Learn n ‘Play es un programa abierto al estilo de un grupo de juego donde los niños de 2 a 5 años y sus cuidadores pueden venir y aprender a través del juego. Gran parte de cómo los niños aprenden a una edad temprana es a través del juego y la experiencia práctica. Las habilidades motoras se desarrollan al poner los juguetes en un contenedor, las habilidades de resolución de problemas se refinan al descubrir cómo evitar que una torre de bloques se caiga, etc. Estas oportunidades de aprendizaje solo crecen cuando los cuidadores se involucran y hacen preguntas a sus hijos, como preguntar sobre el color de los juguetes o adivinar qué sucederá cuando se retire un bloque de la parte inferior de la torre. El programa Learn n ‘Play creará el entorno perfecto para que los niños y cuidadores exploren, aprendan y se diviertan juntos.

COLLIERVILLE, TN (CL) — Full STEAM Ahead is a STEAM-based story time program in which children from 2 – 5 years old will explore a topic in science, technology, engineering, art, or math through books, songs, discussion, and hands-on exploration. It encourages children to learn through their natural curiosity and almost unending questions about the world around them.

Caregivers will also be encouraged to engage their children by asking questions and posing simple challenges. In this way, both children and caregivers can learn how to turn even everyday tasks into learning opportunities.

Learn n’ Play is an open playgroup style program where children from ages 2 – 5 and their caregivers can come and learn through playtime. Much of how children learn at an early age is through play and hand-on experience. Motor skills are developed by putting toys in a bin, problem solving skills are refined by figuring out how to keep a block tower from falling over, etc. These learning opportunities only grow when caregivers get involved and ask questions of their child, such as asking about the color of the toys or guessing what will happen when a block is removed from the bottom of the tower. The Learn n’ Play program will create the perfect environment for children and caregivers to explore, learn, and have fun together.
