Big John, world’s biggest dinosaur triceratops, to go on auction in Paris

Paris, Aug 31 (EFE).- Big John, the world’s biggest dinosaur triceratops, will be put up for auction in Paris in October, organizers said Tuesday.

The 66-million-year-old skeleton is expected to fetch around 1.5 million euros ($1.8 million) at the sale, which is set to take place at the Drouot auction house on October 21.

The sale is held as part of the annual Naturalia auction, which has been the scene for the sale of nature’s most impressive fossilized wonders, including two allosauruses that were sold for 1.4 million euros in 2018 and 3 million euros in 2020, a diplodocus that was sold for 1.4 million euros in 2018.

The plant-eating triceratops, with its massive skull, three sharp horns, and a large bony frill on its head, is among the world’s best-known dinosaurs.EFE
