Bill Could Make Talking on a Hand-Held Phone While Driving Illegal

 

TENNESSEE (LPL/WREG) — Un nuevo proyecto de ley presentado a la legislatura de Tennessee haría que sea ilegal hablar por teléfono celular mientras se conduce un automóvil.

El Proyecto de Ley 0044 de la Cámara de Representantes, que fue patrocinado por la Representante Patsy Hazlewood del Distrito 27, establece que es ilegal, en cualquier calle o autopista del estado, que una persona “hable por teléfono móvil, sosteniéndolo con la mano, mientras está conduciendo un vehículo”.

El proyecto de ley también haría ilegal que cualquier persona menor de 18 años use un dispositivo inalámbrico mientras conduce un vehículo.

A los conductores adultos todavía se les permitiría usar dispositivos inalámbricos.

La sanción propuesta por violar la ley sería un cargo por delito menor y una multa que no excedería los $50.

De ser aprobada, se convertiría en ley el 1 de enero del 2020.

TENNESSEE (WREG) — A new bill introduced to the Tennessee legislature would make it illegal to talk on your hand-held phone while driving a car.

House Bill 0044, which was sponsored by Rep. Patsy Hazlewood of District 27, states it is illegal for anyone to “operate a motor vehicle on any road or highway in this state and talk on a hand-held mobile telephone while the vehicle is in motion.”

The bill would also make it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to use a hands-free device while driving a vehicle that is in motion.

Adults drivers would still be allowed to use hands-free devices.

The proposed penalty for violating the law would be a misdemeanor charge and a fine that would not exceed $50.

If passed it would become law on January 1, 2020.
