Purchasing trends and consumption in Indonesia

The Indonesians Ministry of Agriculture claims that the rice production in the harvest period from January to April 2021 will exceed the demands. Based on data released by the Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the total rice production in that period reached 14.54 million tons, an increase of 26 percent from the previous year. 

Population growth accompanied by increased purchasing power is expected to encourage consumption of animal protein, particularly chicken eggs.
