Putin prohibits operations with companies, individuals sanctioned by Russia

Moscow, May 3 (EFE).- Russia’s president Vladimir Putin signed a decree prohibiting all types of operations with companies and individuals sanctioned by Moscow in response to “unfriendly actions” by certain countries.

The decision, published on the official portal of legal information on Tuesday, involves State agencies, at any level, companies and even individuals who are under the jurisdiction of Russia.

According to the presidential decree, all of them will not be able to carry out operations, including foreign trade, with legal and natural persons subject to sanctions.

The decree also vetoes financial operations in which the beneficiary is a legal or natural person sanctioned by Russia.

The restrictions come as the European Union considers a sixth round of sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine a little over two months ago. EFE
