Qatar limp out of World Cup as Dutch progress to last 16

Doha, Nov 29 (EFE).- Qatar were eliminated from the World Cup on Tuesday after being comfortably beaten 2-0 by the Netherlands, the hosts’ third defeat of the tournament.

The defeat means Qatar are the only World Cup host nation to lose all three group matches, as they exit with no points and only one goal.

The Netherlands were completely dominant, and scored through Cody Gakpo’s 26th minute strike and Frenkie de Jong’s second half tap in.

The Dutch qualify for the Round of 16 as group A winners, and will face the runner up of group B. EFE
