Queen Elizabeth II to hold 1st meeting with President Biden at Windsor Castle

London, Jun 3 (EFE).- The United Kingdom’s Queen Elizabeth II will meet with United States President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle on June 13, Buckingham Palace announced Thursday.

The UK head of state is to meet Biden and his wife on the final day of a G7 Summit taking place in Cornwall, England.

It will be the first meeting between the pair since Biden, 78, took office.

Biden is the 12th US president to be elected since Elizabeth, 95, was crowned in 1952.

The G7 meeting is taking place with a reduced format due to the restrictions in place for the Covid-19 pandemic.

The leaders of the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US and the European Union are due to attend the Summit. Australia, India, South Korea and South Africa have been invited as guest countries.EE
