Queen Elizabeth in ‘good spirits’ after spending night in hospital

London, Oct 22 (EFE).- Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom was in “good spirits” after spending Wednesday night in hospital for preliminary medical examinations, Buckingham Palace said in a statement late Thursday.

The 95-year-old monarch had to cancel a visit to Northern Ireland this week on the advice of her doctors.

The Queen is now resting at her residence in Windsor Castle after being discharged from King Edward VII private hospital in London at noon Thursday.

According to a source close to the royal family quoted by UK media, the queen is “resting and carrying out light duties.”

Her admittance to hospital was the first since 2013 when she spent the night in a private clinic to treat symptoms of gastroenteritis. EFE
