London, May 6 (EFE).- Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday wished her great-grandson Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a happy second birthday.
Archie is the first child of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, who recently revealed they are expecting a baby girl.
“Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today,” the queen posted to her Twitter account, alongside a photo of the pair and their son.
Archie’s uncle Prince William and his wife Kate, as well as his grandparents Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, also shared birthday wishes for Archie on their Twitter accounts.
Archie, born in London on May 6, 2019, is seventh in line to the throne, although he was not granted the title of the prince when he was born.
The two-year-old now lives with his parents in Los Angeles after they announced they were stepping back as senior members of the British royal family in February 2020.
During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, Harry and Meghan revealed that one of the main reasons that they stepped down was the negative and racist press coverage of the couple in British media.
