Ramos suffers left hamstring injury

Madrid, May 8 (EFE).- Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos suffered yet another injury that will keep him on the sideline for their upcoming La Liga home clash against Sevilla, the Spanish powerhouse announced on Saturday.

“Following the tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with tendenitis in the semimembranosus muscle of his left hamstring,” the club said in a statement.

The Spanish defender made his comeback from injury on Wednesday in their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal. The English team made the final on a 3-1 aggregate win.

Ramos’ injury added to Zinedine Zidane’s woes in defense, as he joined Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane and Lucas Vazquez on the sidelines.

Real Madrid will have to bounce back after the Champions League exit in order to keep their hopes of a league trophy alive.

They hold the second spot in La Liga table with 74 points, two shy of leader Atletico Madrid with four games to spare. EFE
