Blackpink delays release of new album ‘Born Pink’

Seoul, Aug 1 (EFE).- K-pop band Blackpink will release its new studio album “Born Pink” in September, a month later than scheduled, ahead of their world tour that will kick-off the following month, its agency announced Monday.

It will be the first album of the quartet, comprising Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa, since they released their debut full-length record titled “The Album” in October 2020, although the group is expected to drop some new songs in August.

In early July, Blackpink’s agency YG Entertainment said the band was in the final phase of recording its new album and would begin filming a music video that month.

The agency added that the group would also embark on the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group” by the end of the year.

The band will kick off their international tour in October, although the exact dates are still unknown.

Jennie and Rosé had already announced that the band was recording new music and preparing for a world tour by the end of 2022.

Last year, Rosé’s solo song “R,” which was released in March, and Lisa, who released “Lalisa” in September, were both highly successful.

Blackpink is the most subscribed artist globally on YouTube with over 75 million subscribers. EFE
