Madrid, Mar 16 (EFE).- Real Madrid on Wednesday announced they would donate a million euros for Ukrainians who have fled their country since Russia invaded on February 24.
The donation is part of a campaign launched by Real Madrid’s foundation on March 5.
The contribution, which will go to the Red Cross and UNHCR, among others, aims to “help alleviate the needs of the displaced population of Ukraine,” the club said in a statement.
The Spanish soccer giants have also provided 13,000 pieces of warm clothing, sports and recreational equipment for the Red Cross and other charities in Madrid to help shelter Ukrainian refugees in Spain. EFE
