Real Sociedad’s Anoeta turned into Covid-19 vaccination center

San Sebastian, Spain, Mar 30 (efe’epa).- Real Sociedad’s home ground, the Anoeta stadium, which has been closed to supporters since March last year, opened its doors on Tuesday as mass coronavirus vaccination center.

The stadium was reopening its doors to the public to contribute its “grain of sand” to help stop this “serious situation”, the club’s vice-president, Ángel Oyarzun, said.

Around 400 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine are to be administered throughout the first day by two nursing teams provdied by the club, with support from the Provincial Council Staff.

In total, 9,500 people, all of them under 65 years of age, are expected to be vaccinated in the coming weeks at the two inoculation points set up in the lobby of the stadium (known as Reale Arena for sponsorship purposes) in San Sebastian. EFE-EPA
