“Breakfast with Books”: A Community Initiative Collaboration

 

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — El sábado, 24 de marzo, arranca la iniciativa “Desayuno con Libros”, una colaboración entre las organizaciones C-3 Land Cooperative, Comunidades Unidas en Una Voz (CUUV) y el Centro Cultural. El objetivo de la iniciativa es proveer un espacio de participación comunitaria en el que las familias latinas de Memphis puedan compartir, aprender y construir comunidad. Consiste en juntar libros en español para poder distribuirlos y fomentar la lectura en la comunidad de la ciudad.

Los lugares a los que se pueden llevar los libros son los siguientes:

– El Ranchito Tienda Mexicana (3908 Macon Rd., Memphis, TN 38122)

– Eclipse Tienda (5843 Winchester Rd., Memphis, TN 38115)

– Super Car Auto Sales (2531 Lamar Ave. Memphis TN 38114)

– La Guadalupana (4818 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122)

Los libros estarán siendo recogidos durante las siguientes semanas y se invita al público en general a participar.

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — On Saturday, March 24, the “Breakfast with Books” initiative kicks off, a collaboration between the organizations C-3 Land Cooperative, United Communities in One Voice (CUUV), and Centro Cultural. The goal of the initiative is to provide a space for community participation in which Latino families in Memphis can share, learn, and build community. It consists of gathering books in Spanish in order to distribute them and encourage reading throughout the community.

The places where the books can be taken are the following:
