Mid-South Restaurant Serves Meals to Those in Need on Christmas Day

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/FOX 13) — Durante esta temporada de donaciones, un restaurante del Medio Sur está haciendo su parte para ayudar a los demás a lo grande.

Westy’s, un restaurante en el centro de la ciudad, estaba repleto de personas necesitadas que disfrutaban de una comida navideña el miércoles.

“Estoy bendecido de recibir una comida gratis”, dijo Jamaal Crones.

Cientos de voluntarios pasaron el día retribuyendo y repartiendo comidas calientes.

“Ayuda a la ciudad de Memphis tener tantas personas que se preocupan por ayudar y cuidar”, dijo Randy Bahl.

El propietario, Jake Schorr, dijo que este es el decimosexto año del evento. Dijo que está muy orgulloso de la cantidad de amor que se muestra entre los voluntarios y las personas necesitadas.

“En el mundo en que vivimos hoy. Esto es importante ayudar a las personas que pueden no tener lo que usted tiene. De hecho los esperamos. Tomen su comida y bebidas “, dijo Schorr.

No solo la gente disfrutaba de una comida gratis, sino que había montones y montones de ropa donada que las personas podían llevarse consigo.

Y la generosidad no pasó desapercibida.

“Es una bendición para todos ustedes seguir contribuyendo, ayudando año tras año”, dijo Jamaal Crones.

MEMPHIS, TN (FOX 13) — During this season of giving, a Mid-South restaurant is doing its part to help others in a big way.

Westy’s, a restaurant in Downtown Memphis was jack packed with people in need enjoying a Christmas meal on Wednesday.

“I’m just blessed to get a free meal,” said Jamaal Crones.

Hundreds of volunteers spent the day giving back and passing out hot meals.

“It helps the city of Memphis to have so many helping and caring people who care,” said Randy Bahl.

The owner, Jake Schorr, said this is the 16th year for the event. He said he’s so proud of the amount of love shown between volunteer and people in need.

“In the world we live in today. This is important to treat people who may not have what you have. We actually wait on them. Get their food and drinks,” said Schorr.

Not only did people get to enjoy a free meal, but there were pile and piled of donated clothes people could take with them.

And the generosity didn’t go unnoticed.

“It’s just a blessing for you all to keep giving back, reaching out year after year,” said Jamaal Crones.
