‘Robot’ students graduate from Philippines high school

Students of a Philippines high school on Friday participated in a virtual graduation ceremony to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The faces of the students were shown on tablets attached to robots at Senator Renato Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology in Taguig City, south of Manila, during a ceremony livestreamed on Facebook.

The Philippines has accumulated nearly 1.5 million cases of Covid-19, and over 26,300 deaths since the start of the pandemic, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
