Ronaldo Nazario: With Real Madrid’s budget I’d sign Mbappé
Madrid, Jun 18 (efe-epa).- Former Brazil star Ronaldo Nazario said that he would sign Kylian Mbappé if he had Real Madrid’s budget.
The former Real Madrid player, now the president of LaLiga side Real Valladolid, spoke at a press conference in the Spanish capital organized by the bank Santander.
“I would sign Mbappé. He reminds me a bit of myself — his speed, his finish,” Ronaldo said. “He reminds me of when I was a player.
Asked whether Erling Haaland, the promising Norwegian star currently with German club Borussia Dortmund, would interest Real Madrid, he said: “I think he’s a great player.
“He’s still young, and he’s having a pretty good year with a lot of goals. But we’ll have to see how he turns out. There are sure to be many big clubs watching him.
“Real Madrid has great players. (Karim) Benzema scores goals every Sunday.”
The Brazilian turned his attention to Vinicius Júnior y Rodrygo, two young compatriots looking to leave their mark at his former club.
“I think their role will be very important,” he said.
“Neither Vinicius nor Rodrygo are certain starters, but they have the quality and the potential to be.”
“I think the young ones will have an advantage over everyone else in terms of their physical condition, but I don’t think that will be the determining factor,” he added in reference to the frantic end to the LaLiga season following the coronavirus hiatus.
Ronaldo was then asked to list his top five all-time players.
“Pelé, Maradona, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo,” he replied.
