Russia claims having repelled 13 Ukrainian offensives, killed 460 soldiers

Moscow, Jul 11 (EFE).- The Russian Ministry of Defense on Tuesday claimed to have repelled 13 offensives of the Ukrainian forces in the east and south of the country and killed 460 soldiers in the last 24 hours.

“During the last 24-hour period, the Ukrainian armed forces continued unsuccessful attempts to advance in the Donetsk, Krasny Liman and south Donetsk directions,” Defense Ministry Spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said at a press conference, according to state-owned TASS agency.

“On the Donetsk front, thanks to the attacks of tactical aviation, artillery and the appropriate actions of the units of the South group, nine enemy attacks were successfully repelled” in five regions, Konashenkov said.

He added Russian warplanes and artillery had also pushed back “three enemy attacks” and neutralized a Ukrainian subversive reconnaissance group in the Krasny Liman region in the east of the country.

Another offensive was pushed back in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions in south of Ukraine, he said.

Konashenkov also claimed that at least 460 Ukrainian soldiers were also killed as a result of the offensives on the eastern and southern frontlines.

Since the start of the war, Konashenkov claimed the Russian forces have destroyed 696 Ukrainian warplanes and combat helicopters, 4,966 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 surface-to-air missile systems, 10,649 tanks and combat vehicles, 6,550 artillery, mortars and rocket launchers and 11,592 military vehicles.
