Russia hits record daily coronavirus death

Moscow, Jul 10 (EFE).- Russia on Saturday reported a record 752 coronavirus deaths over the past 24 hours, a new daily record.

Moscow accounts for most of the deaths followed by St Petersburg with 108 and 102 fatalities respectively.

A total of 25,082 fresh infections have been reported over the past 24 hours, including 3,124 asymptomatic cases, bringing the overall tally to 5,758,300, while the death toll stands at 142,253.

Despite the soar, the Russian authorities have ruled out a lockdown, relying instead on the vaccine campaign that has advanced slowly due to reluctance in the general population. EFE
