Russia launches overnight missile attack on Kyiv

Kyiv, Sep 6 (EFE).- Russian forces launched a new missile attack on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv overnight, the head of the city’s military administration said.
“Another missile attack by the enemy on a peaceful city with the aim of killing the civilian population and destroying the infrastructure,” Serhiy Popko reported on his Telegram account.
Ukrainian air defenses intercepted all the missiles before they reached their targets, he added.
“And again, the attack is not simple, but combined. Previously, from the Saratov region, the Russian Tu-95MS strategic aviation aircraft fired cruise missiles of the Kh-101/555/55 type. At the same time, missiles of a different type, probably ballistic, were launched over Kyiv,” wrote Popko, who also thanked the Air Force for protecting the capital.
The Ukrainian emergency services reported a fire at the facilities of a Kyiv company as a result of the falling debris of one of the intercepted missiles.
According to the Air Force, Russia launched a total of 33 projectiles, including missiles and drones, against Ukrainian territory overnight.
Air defenses intercepted seven cruise missiles, an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 15 Shahed drones. EFE
