Russia strikes Danube grain port after Ukraine drone attacks on Moscow, Crimea

Moscow/Kyiv, Jul 24 (EFE).- Russia destroyed several grain warehouses at a port on the Danube river in Ukraine in a drone strike on Monday.

The drone strike on the port of Reni lasted more than four hours on Monday morning, the Southern Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office, at least four grain “hangars”, oil and fuel storage tanks and an administrative building were damaged or destroyed.

The attack came after Ukraine struck Moscow and the Crimean peninsula in its own drone strikes overnight.

According to Bellingcat researcher Christo Grozev, several buildings belonging to Russia’s foreign intelligence agency, the GRU, are located at the site of the Moscow attack.

Kyiv’s strikes on Crimea and Moscow come after Russia hit Ukraine’s ports several times last week just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin exited the so-called Black Sea Initiative, which facilitated the passage of Ukrainian grain exports. EFE
