Russian attack on Ukraine’s west kills 3 civilians
Kyiv, Aug 15 (EFE).- A wave of fresh Russian aerial attacks claimed three civilian lives on Tuesday in the western Ukrainian region bordering Poland, officials said.
The civilian casualties occurred in Lutsk city, the administrative center of Volyn Oblast, regional Governor Yuriy Pohulyaiko wrote on the messaging app Telegram.
Pohulyaiko said Russian missiles hit several business enterprises in the city and “several people were hospitalized.”
Russian missiles hit other Ukrainian cities, prompting the authorities to sound a pre-dawn air strike alert across the country.
A Russian missile hit a factory in Dnipro and injured at least two people, setting fire to an industrial area of about 800 square meters, the regional administration said.
The Russians launched fresh attacks on Lviv, also in the West.
A missile hit a block with more than 100 homes, the Lviv mayor’s office said.
“There are no victims,” said city mayor Andriy Sadovy.
Official Ukrinform news agency said Russian troops fired some fired 28 cruise missiles last night, of which 16 were intercepted by anti-aircraft defenses.
The missiles were fired from Russian bombers operating in the Caspian Sea region and from a frigate in the Black Sea.
Attacks on the city of Kramatorsk left two dead and a woman wounded on Monday afternoon. EFE
