Bath Towel Bandit Targets Two Whitehaven Stores
“El Bandido con Toalla” roba a dos tiendas de Whitehaven

MEMPHIS, TN (WREG) — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who was wearing a black hoodie and white towel on his head when he held up a Dollar General at gunpoint and tried to rob a Family Dollar store a day earlier.
MPD released video of the suspect dressed in all black entering the Family Dollar in the 5300 of Elvis Presley around 8 p.m. Friday.
They said the man was also carrying a black backpack and armed with a gun.
A cashier said she asked the man to remove his hood, and that’s when he approached the checkout area, made threats, and demanded money from the register.
The cashier said she hesitated, and the man got louder, alerting an employee at the back of the store. Police said when the suspect saw the other worker he fled without taking anything.
A day later, a man wearing identical clothing was seen entering the Dollar General in the 4700 block of Neely Road.
Police said the man was also wearing a white towel on his head, carrying a black backpack, and armed with a handgun.
They said the suspect approached the cashier and demanded money. Surveillance video shows him taking money out of the cash drawer.

La cajera dijo que dudó y el hombre hizo más ruido, alertando a un empleado en la parte trasera de la tienda. La policía dijo que cuando el sospechoso vio al otro trabajador huyó sin llevarse nada.
Un día después, se vio a un hombre vestido de forma idéntica entrando al Dollar General en la cuadra 4700 de Neely Road.
La policía dijo que el hombre también llevaba una toalla blanca en la cabeza, llevaba una mochila negra y estaba armado con una pistola.
Dijeron que el sospechoso se acercó al cajero y exigió dinero. El vídeo de vigilancia lo muestra sacando dinero del cajón del efectivo.
