Israeli police kill 4 Palestinians in West Bank raid

Jerusalem, Aug 16 (EFE).- Israeli police shot and killed four Palestinians during an operation in the occupied West Bank on Monday.

Israeli authorities said agents responded when they came under fire during a raid on the Jenin refugee camp.

The agents belonged to the Mista’arvim counter-terror outfit, an undercover unit whose soldiers are trained to assimilate into Arab and Palestinian communities.

None of the Israeli agents were injured, according to a statement.

Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority Mohammad Shtayyeh condemned the killings as part of Israel’s “continued crimes” against the Palestinian people, according to Palestinian press.

The four killed were named locally as Saleh Mohammed Ammar, Amjad Iyad Azmi, Raed Ziad Abu Seif and Noor Jarrar

Clashes are common in the West Bank, a territory Israel has occupied since the 1967 Six-Day War but that Palestinians envision as part of a future state, along with the Gaza Strip.EFE
