Solskjaer confirms Ronaldo will play against Newcastle

London, Sep 10 (EFE) – Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Friday confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will play this weekend against Newcastle United, but stopped short of revealing whether he will start or come off the bench.

The Portuguese player will begin his second spell as a ‘Red Devil’ at Old Trafford on Saturday, after arriving from Juventus in the final days of the transfer window.

Ronaldo has been in Manchester for several days, after breaking the record for international goals with Portugal last week, and has already trained with his new teammates.

“He has had a good week with us and he will definitely be on the pitch at some point, that’s for sure,” Solskjaer told a news conference, without revealing whether he will start in the starting XI.

“We know everything he has achieved in his career, but he has come here to win more. That’s what he does. He has lived his life with the discipline of a top, top professional. Even when he came here (in 2003), I remember how well he prepared. He would arrive 45 minutes early for training.” EFE
