Eriksen returns to Denmark’s roster 9 months after on-field cardiac arrest

Copenhagen, Mar 15 (EFE).- Christian Eriksen on Tuesday made Denmark’s 23-man roster for the first time since collapsing on field due to a cardiac arrest during the Euro 2020 nine months ago.

The midfielder returned to professional football as a Brentford player in late February, eight months after collapsing during his team’s Euro 2020 clash against Finland on 12 June.

“He looks the same. I have followed it closely,” Denmark’s coach Kasper Hjulmand said at a presser.

“He was in London recently to see him training and playing and he is in great shape. He has played at a very high level. Of course he still has room for improvement, but he is at a high level,” he added.

Denmark, which have already secured a 2022 FIFA World Cup seat, will play two friendlies against the Netherlands and Serbia on March 26 and 29 respectively. EFE
