Seoul, Mar 17 (efe-epa).- South Korean singer Chungha on Wednesday released a Spanish version of her song “Demente,” with the video gaining more than 20,000 views in its first two hours on YouTube.
The original version of “Demente” was included in the artist’s studio album “Querencia,” released on Feb. 15, and although it included many verses in Spanish, it also incorporated parts in Korean.
Both in the original version and in this 100 percent Spanish version, “Demente,” a track with a clear reggaeton inspiration, features the participation of the Puerto Rican rapper Guaynaa (Jean Carlos Santiago Pérez).
Chungha, already accustomed to singing in both English and Korean, shows her wide range of skills and versatility with this new song sung in Spanish with a Latin style.
The 25-year-old artist from Seoul made her debut in 2016 with the girl band I.O.I, which disbanded in January the following year, and she debuted that June as a solo artist with her first extended play (EP) of four, “Hands on Me.”
The artist has since become one of the most successful soloists on the K-Pop scene with songs such as “Roller Coaster” (2018) and “Snapping” (2019). EFE-EPA
