Sports Desk, Aug 22 (EFE).- Manchester United came back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against a plucky Southampton team on Sunday at St Mary’s.
After a strong start from the visitors, the Saints took the lead against the run of play in rather fortuitous circumstances as Che Adams’ wayward shot took a huge deflection off Fred to drift into the net past the helpless David de Gea.
United were much stronger as the second half began, and deservedly equalized on 55 minutes after excellent play from Paul Pogba and a finish from Mason Greenwood, although McCarthy ought to have saved.
Manchester United were totally dominant, and had chances to take the lead that would likely have secured the win, but Southampton managed to fight back as the game wore on, ultimately deserving the share of the spoils. EFE
