Spain’s PM Sánchez set to meet Zelenskyy in Kyiv in coming days

Madrid, Apr 19 (EFE).- Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sánchez is set to travel to Kyiv to meet with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the coming days, government sources told Efe Tuesday.

The planned meeting comes after Sánchez on Monday confirmed plans to reopen the Spanish embassy in the Ukrainian capital.

The government sources said the meeting would show Spain’s solidarity with Ukraine against Russia’s invasion, although the exact date of the visit has not been made public due to security concerns.

The planned trip by Spain’s prime minister is to follow similar visits by a number of European leaders, including the European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, the prime ministers of Poland and several Baltic nations and the prime minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson.EFE
